Good to see in the replies that a respectable proportion are not convinced.

Personally i think the Directors of Baxter,Glaxo and Heath officials should be the first guinea pigs.

The NHS is preparing to vaccinate the entire population against swine flu after the disease claimed the life of its first healthy British patient.
A new vaccine is expected to arrive in Britain in the next few weeks and could be fast-tracked through regulatory approval in five days.
As many as 20m people could be inoculated this year. Ministers have secured up to 90m doses, and the rest of the population is likely to be offered vaccinations next year.
A man from Essex was confirmed on Friday as the first person without underlying health problems to have died from the virus. The health department said most people with the virus had only mild symptoms.

Peter Holden, the British Medical Association’s lead negotiator on swine flu, said GPs’ surgeries were ready for one of the biggest vaccination campaigns in almost 50 years.
“If this virus does [mutate], it can get a lot more nasty, and the idea is to give people immunity. But the sheer logistics of dealing with 60m people can’t be underestimated,” he said.
The health department said a vaccination programme would be drawn up based on expert advice.
The path of a popular medicine from the laboratory to the chemist or doctor’s surgery can involve years of clinical trials on a select group of patients.
When the new vaccine for swine flu arrives in Britain, regulators said this weekend, it could be approved for use in just five days.
Regulators at the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) said the fast-tracked procedure has involved clinical trials of a “mock-up” vaccine similar to the one that will be used for the biggest mass vaccination programme in generations. It will be introduced into the general population while regulators continue to carry out simultaneous clinical trials.
The first patients in the queue for the jab - being supplied to the UK by GSK and Baxter Healthcare - may understandably be a little nervous at any possible side effects. A mass vaccination campaign against swine flu in America was halted in the 1970s after some people suffered Guillain-Barré syndrome, a disorder of the nervous system.
However, regulators said fast-tracking would not be at the expense of patient safety. “The vaccines are authorised with a detailed risk management plan,” the EMEA said. “There is quite a body of evidence regarding safety on the trials of the mock-up, and the actual vaccine could be assessed in five days.”
The UK government has ordered enough vaccine to cover the entire population. GPs are being told to prepare for a nationwide vaccination campaign.
Dr Peter Holden, the British Medical Association’s lead negotiator on swine flu, who has been attending Department of Health meetings on the outbreak, said GPs’ surgeries were prepared for one of the biggest vaccination campaigns in almost 50 years.
He said although swine flu was not causing serious illness in patients, health officials were eager to start a mass vaccination campaign, starting first on priority groups. First, the jabs would reduce the chances of a shortage of hospital beds because of people suffering from swine flu. Second, it would reduce the effect on the economy by ensuring workers were protected from the virus.
“The high-risk groups will be done at GPs’ surgeries. People are still making decisions over this, but we want to get cracking before we get a second wave, which is traditionally far more virulent.”
Holden said it was likely the elderly would be given their seasonal flu jab as well as the swine flu vaccination. The new vaccine is likely to require two doses.
Details of the inoculation plans emerged after the death of a patient, reportedly a middle-aged man, at a hospital in the Basildon area of Essex. The victim had no underlying health problems, but officials say there is no evidence the swine flu virus had mutated into a more dangerous strain.
Holden said it would be the biggest campaign in response to an outbreak since mass vaccination against smallpox in 1962. He said surgeries would be aiming to inoculate about 30 people an hour in a “military-style operation”.
The Department of Health said it had still not finalised which groups would be vaccinated first, but children, frontline health workers, people with underlying illnesses and the elderly are likely to take priority.
The European Commission is also identifying population groups which it believes should get priority. It is keen to ensure that countries such as the UK, which had ordered supplies of the vaccine in advance, do not cause inequities in treatment elsewhere in Europe.
It warned health ministers in a note circulated last month that if the vaccines were more readily available in some countries it could cause “vaccine tourism/shopping in other member states”.
About 15 people have died of swine flu in Britain, but most of those infected get only mild symptoms. According to the latest figures from the Health Protection Agency, the UK has had 9,718 confirmed cases of the disease.

dont' you love the message,

According to whose traditions?

Glaxo and Mercks?

Other than 1918 which cannot be compared with today's situation, where is the evidence that every second wave is more virulent?

Please read the replies to this story from the link below, this could be one of the most refused vaccines ever if this is truly representative.
I asked 10 people at work today if they would have the swine flu vaccine and 5 said no way, 3 said maybe and 2 said yes. These are people who normally agree with childhood vaccinations so even the sheeple are worried.
Infact i have been very surprised by all this, thank god so many seem to be waking up all over the world.

I agree with this bit from the link above. regarding "testing the waters" for compulsion which is why we see headlines such as "all brits to be vaccinated"

The trial balloon went up today on the UK government’s efforts to impose a mass mandatory vaccination program against swine flu, but judging from the response on a major newspaper website, millions of British citizens will tell the goons with needles to stick it where the sun don’t shine"

Thank goodness for that. We can all be community minded and refuse on the basis that there are others more "worthy" than us

UPDATE: Times Online Editor: We Didn’t Censor Opposition to Mandatory Vaccination Comments (http://www.infowars.com/times-online-editor-we-didnt-censor-opposition-to-mandatory-vaccination-comments/)
“On Wednesday 15th July, starting at around 10:30 BST, we started work implementing a completely new comments system on Times Online,” Tom Whitwell, editor of the Times Online, wrote in an email sent to Infowars. “The new comment system overwrote the old comments system. We didn’t censor this article, we removed all old comments from the site.” Mr. Whitwell asked Infowars and Prison Planet to “pass on my apologies to any of your readers who commented and saw their comments disappear.”

The London Times newspaper has apparently censored scores of comments on its own website that expressed vehement opposition to plans by the UK government to implement a mandatory vaccination program for swine flu.

As we reported on Sunday (http://www.prisonplanet.com/brits-tell-goons-with-needles-to-stick-it-where-the-sun-dont-shine.html), respondents to a London Times article (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article6694046.ece) concerning the fact that the vaccine will be rushed through safety procedures in just five days, increasing the chances of it causing deaths and injuries in the thousands, as happened with the 1977 mass vaccination program in the U.S. which killed more people than the actual swine flu virus, overwhelmingly indicated that they would refuse to take the shot.

At one point, out of the first 50 comments on the article, over 40 expressed opposition to taking the shot and the other handful were merely asking questions about it. Hardly any comments expressed support for the nationwide rollout of the swine flu vaccine.

The overwhelming majority of comments were in the context of the following sample.

“Nobody’s coming anywhere near me or my family with their experimental mass vaccine/poison programme,” wrote one. “We will take our chances of catching their manufactured bird/pig/human virus, that was accidentally on purpose! released onto an unsuspecting public in the first place!”
“Anybody who reads this obviously still has the ability to reason and be guided by their own survival instinct and thus should listen to it. The mass fear mongering is a worldwide, co-ordinated and open conspiracy with massive geo political underpinnings. Don’t be fooled, eat properly and exercise,” adds another.
“A vaccine that is – effectively – being tested on the population, the prime reasons for such being the economy and easing pressure on the NHS? I’ll be another one who passes,” comments another.
“Thanks but no thanks. Rushed through tests in 5 days? What about long term effects? Vioxx and Thalidomide had long testing. How safe did they turn out to be? The side effects of Statins that they want everyone to take are worrying. I’ll take my chances with cholesterol,” writes another.

As of today however, the original London Times article (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article6694046.ece)that featured the comments (Swine flu vaccine rushed through safety checks) has been completely wiped clean, and the scores of comments expressing refusal to comply with any potential mandatory vaccination program have been sent down the memory hole.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)

A reader e mailed us to notify us that the comments had all been deleted.

“I revisited the article entitled “Swine flu vaccine rushed through safety checks” on the times website, to see if, as I had a suspicion, the comments would be censored as they were predominantly decrying the vaccine,” he writes.
“Lo and behold, they have all disappeared, and furthermore I noticed the commenting system is now setup so you must register to comment, whereas before it was open to anyone who simply supplied an email address. No doubt this is to discourage anonymous posts, however the registration does of course allow you to type a false name.”
“Having suspected this censorship would happen, I saved the web page with the comments in, and I have listed them below. I can supply the webpage as a zip if requested.”

The fact that major British newspapers are censoring the mass opposition to the planned mandatory nationwide roll out of the swine flu vaccine is indicative of the concern that authorities must be having about exactly how many millions of Brits will refuse to take the shot when vaccines become available later this year.

I've been having a chuckle to myself of late. It seems that most (not all, but most) people seem dead against being told they have to have this vaccine. You go on most comment sections and suddenly where the pro choice, anti vaccers were being called stupid and idiots they are being sided with... the pro vaccers have come over to the dark side!:giggle:

These are the very people who cry out for compulsary childhood vaccines, without knowing anything about them. Demanding that unvaccinated children stay out of schools. Could it be possible if they are questioning the safety of this vaccine, that they may just start to question others too? This could be a new wave of eyes opening!

Forever the optimist.
