Not for kiddos with no respect for bones. Or adults for that matter, like me :) for this, I use snapper steaks because the bones are like doorstops and even a nob like me can find them.
500 g fish steaks
1 tbs coriander
1 tsp gr cumin,
4 freen chillis, or red if you want.
4 cloves garlic.
4 sprigs fresh coriander (I use parsley, because I hate fresh coriander)
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp grated coconut
1 cup grated tomato
1 1/2 cups coconut cream. (coconut milk is ghastly)
I large grated onion.
6 curry leaves,
4 tbsps oil
Juice one lemon.
chillies garlic and coriander ground fine, or smashed together in mortar and pestal. Add dry spices to mush, mix to paste with 1 tbsp oil, and smear over fish and set aside.
Fry grated onion, until goldent, add grated tomato, and cook 2 minutes; add coconut cream, , bring to simmer, add lemon juice, and curry leaves and simmer one minute. Then add fish to sauce and cook very slowly over low heat until fish cooked. Around 5 - 10 minutes.
if you eat rice, serve with it, as it mops up the coconut.
You can also add corn on the cob to this, but you'd need to partially steam it first.
