Removing a woman's cervix also reduces cervical cancer, but before we go chopping peoples' parts off, how about we look at the bigger picture of what causes the disease.
Yes, perhaps it's true that cutting part of a boy's penis off will reduce the spread of cervical cancer, but cutting off the entire penis will eliminate the disease altogether. Shouldn't we strive for the eradication of the disease, instead of merely trying to lower the rate of disease? When you're circumcising, remember: Don't stop at the foreskin when the ability to eliminate cervical cancer lies right there in your hands.
Yes, that's sarcasm for any of you who may not be familiar with my sick sense of humor.
Not smoking also greatly reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer, but there doesn't seem to be an honest effort to reduce smoking (at least not in the U.S.) or ban advertising for smoking. If you're not going to go after the major determinants of disease, why bother even bringing up the smaller ones, assuming that perhaps this might be true about circumcision. Advocating a ban on smoking seems a lot more sane than advocating for the chopping off of penises.
In the interests of disclosure I should point out that this opinion has been brought to you by a man. The aforementiond fact has likely influenced my attitudes against the chopping off of penises.

ITA, chopping off people's body parts in the name of disease prevention is completely barbaric. Whatever happened to "first do no harm"?
Whatever happened to "first do no harm"?
That has been quite officially removed and replaced with 'do any harm for greater good' :Whip:

This is sadly true.
And I agree with you as well Moya. As a female I think it's ridiculous to cut off a male's body part too. Many many better options.

Oh yeah especially when it can be defined in economic terms.
