I seem to be starting a lot of threads lately :D

My question is this - how do you know which one is good. I saw bits of Close Up last night that said many that have certain claims on the bottles are actually false advertising and aren't what they claim to be.

So which ones ARE what they should be, what is it that I should be looking for.

I'm wanting some for the first aid kit for topical applications, but I assume it will also be good for that 'flu juice?

I think you have to talk to people who have tried various ones and see what they have had success with..

This is the brand that I use for special occassions ie when acute throat infections come or wounds... NOT ON TOAST! I've had good results. Put it in a glass jar when you get it.

The one we used at the vet clinic, it has a very high UMF, from memory it was 20. It is designed for wounds (as magical says!) NOT for toast!!! I found it excellent for the wounds I used it on and it's not that expensive compared to the high UMF edible honey.
It's made by a company called Aniwell, the same people who make Filta-Bac. The container is the same - blue & white. I'm sure your local clinic or saddler would order it for you, we had it on the shelves but obviously it's fairly new so they might not be familiar with it? or it looks like you can get it online. I think we sold it for about $13 or $15 a tube.

Anyway - whatever one you get, make sure it has a high UMF. I'm not sure they talked enough about that on the programme, but I did notice the 2 that failed the test didn't have that claim on them.
