Not sure if this is the right place but just wondering if anyone knows of a more natural substance that is good for nappy rash. I've normally used Mustela Vitamin cream which has always worked fantastically but obviously now more aware of what is in things like that.
Her skin seems really sensitive so need something really hypo allergenic and mild.

What about a calendula infused oil or cream?

Oh hadn't thought of calendula. I do have some in my homeopathy first aid kit, however it's been made up with Aqueous cream which is petroleum based, although I do use cetomacrogol on her sometimes which is also petroleum based so I guess it's OK. Might see if Weleda do a calendula cream with no nasties in it. Thanks.

Yes, I'm sure I have seen a Weleda brand one.
It's quite easy to make you own as well if you wanted to. Just infuse dried calendula flower in olive oil. You can use the oil as it is, or mix it with a little melted beewax to make an ointment.

I have heard of egg whites pasted onto bottom and let it dry a bit. This also creates a barrier. Also I have heard of rooibos tea put on bottom with cotton wool this works a treat apparently. If my kids ever had nappy rash I would always give them a salt water bath.

Can't do egg whites but now you've jogged my memory Justine, we have a South African teacher at kindy and she told me they use Rooibos tea on bad skin. I think I may have some in the cupboard so may give that a go till I can get some Weleda stuff.
Thanks.

I have a hyper-cal gel that I used to use for nappy rash (and is still part of my first aid kit). Can't recall who it's made by, but it's in a large white and blue tube.
