Not sure if this is the right place for this. I don't want to use Exit Mould or any other chemical preparation so what can I use to get rid of our mould. It's on the aluminium joinery, the wooden window sills, some on the ceiling in the shower etc etc.
Nothing too strong smelling either as I need to use it in the bedrooms and I get terrible headaches from anything pungent.
I've googled it and have some ideas but I'd love to know tried and true's before I do anything.
Thanks!

Clove essential oil kills mould. Use a few drops in a spray bottle mixed with water. Always do a test patch as clove oil will erode certain types of plastic.

Sharon Lush is the Australian expert on cleaning spots, using natural stuff. She has a degree in chemistry and seems to really know her stuff. Has written some books.
I think she often recommends baking soda mixed with white vinegar, but not sure if that is specific to mould.
I saw a show on SBS once called - Is Your House Kiling You ? It was really interesting. Some of these people had so much mould in their homes they had to be evacuated while the cleaners came in!!
The experts on this show said that Exit Mould just makes the mould dissapear but never actually kills it.
Vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle is what they used and kills the spores. I think it was 3 parts vinegar 1 part water if I remember correctly.

I can't stand the smell of cloves, so sorry that one is out for me!
I might try the vinegar one, though even the smell of that after awhile gets to me, hopefully it disappears quickly.
I've been having a good look around and it's getting pretty bad. The problem is it's in the woodwork, i.e. won't come off with a wipe (though I do have some of that which I need to tackle when I get a spare moment). But mainly it's the kind of stuff that you can't just wipe away, hence needing something I can spray on.

Vinegar mixed with GrapeFruit Seed Extract kills mould. I also use cloves in the spray bottle.
For scrubbing mould off, i put a women's stocking (thats all they're good for!) on the broom, sprinkle it with bicarb and scrub the ceilings spraying with vinegar as i go.

Where would I get grapefruit seed extract from? Do you mix just vinegar and the extract or are they both mixed into some water?
