Concerns about herbicide use on Auckland's roadside berms.

I was wondering if anyone else has some concerns. I have been badly affected by the use of the herbicide Round Up a no. of times in recent years....usually when they've just sprayed a street and I shortly afterwards drive along with the windows down and vents open in my car. It gives me headaches and in the longer term...say 2 months afterwards I have lowered energy levels, poorer health, stiff muscles and "pressure" headaches.

I'm really concerned about where I live now in Papatoetoe because the seem to spray very often here, much more than in other parts of Auckland. I've been badly affected twice in the past 18 months. I fear going for walks during the week because of the spraying.

Anyone else get affected, or have concerns. I guess this applies to mainly Auckland residents.:rolleyes:

I'm in Wellington and where I am sure they use round up I also see alot of steam killing of weeds going on too. I have never had the experience you have.

You need to start talking to other people and see if anyone else is being affected. From there you can start bombarding your Council with complaints. They listen to those who shout loudest (sometimes you have to scream for years) and it sounds like you are having a hell of a reaction which would warrent some serious action.

Start looking around the internet for someone who already has started action. There is bound to be at least one person out there who is going through what you are.
