I have JUST weaned my 4 year old   as of Sunday and I think my b@@bs are going to take over the world! Someone please tell me what to do to make the milk go away! LOL
I had a look at the milk stop spray and it was 20 dollars so I decided to flag that and try something else but I have no idea what else to try?
Thanks :)

I have heard cabbage leaves in the bra are a great way to kill milk supply. Maybe try that.
Jen you are a breastfeeding LEGEND. No way would I be embarrased to breastfeed to 4.

Sage can stop milk, you can make it into a tea and drink several times a day for a few days. Haven't personally tried it though.

Did he wean himself, or did you wean him? I'd politely ask him if he could remove some of the frontal load. Doing that every now and again, might help your supply to learn to stop less precipitously?
When my four and a half stopped feeding, I didn't have that problem. The fact that he weaned at the same time as I had a stroke might explain it, but I don't recommend having a stroke as the solution to engorgement. :alien:

Its not full as such really, it has taken a week to feel a little bit harder and is bigger but it HURTS YEOUCH. I think I will pass on the stroke if you don't mind hahaha.
I am guessing mastitis or a breast abscess might be on the cards as I have had two of the latter and goodness knows how many times I have has mastitis!
I will get some cabbage and wear cabbage bras hehe, I hope they don't have green caterpillars on them lol.

the caterpillars might be the secret ;)
you could try expressing a little from the side that hurts. massaging the breast under warm water and expressing a little can help.
expressing a little is not going to signal to your breasts to make more...just alleviate the discomfort.....hopefully.
wow, he was probably getting quite a bit of milk there :)

Sorry not to have responded before now - way behind on posts. :o
Either rosemary tea or sage tea are good at reducing the supply of breastmilk. Rosemary tea - one teaspoon of rosemary to one cup of boiling water, infuse for ten minutes and drink ½-1 cup three times a day. Sage tea - two teaspoons per cup of boiling water, infuse for fifteen minutes and drink ½-1 cup three times a day.
Essential oil of geranium massaged into the breasts will also help reduce supply, and should help to clear any residual mastitis or blockages. Expressing just enough milk from the breasts to make you comfortable is a good idea - it won't stimulate further production, but will rather give your pituitary gland the message that the milk isn't being demanded and it will not therefore be produced. I stopped breastfeeding my daughter at 5½, and she was not taking too much at all by then, but this regime worked for me quite well.
HTH. :)
I've taken vitex for years but when I tried to get back on it while breastfeeding, my supply almost stopped dead in its tracks. And I was taking fenugreek at the time which sends my supply through the roof. So vitex for me is obviously much stronger than fenugreek. Planning to let my girl self-wean. The day she stops for good, I'm definitely getting back on my vitex immediately.
