So I have read everything on here and just want to clarify (read spell it out for me in no uncertain terms:confused:)

We were exposed 2 days ago to chicken pox.... yehy, but had planned on visiting a friend with a 3 week old bubba and also xmas party at the zoo.... these things will be 7 and 8 days after exposure, so inside the 17-21 day incubation period.
Does that mean Ds is not contagious and we are ok to still go?
I am thinking I should just go and see the baby by myself and maybe still go to party?
or is that still not cool?

The same situation applies to you as to your child. Adult immunity is boostered through regular experience with chickenpox, so your body is already processing the virus. Theoretically neither of you can excrete it until about two days before first symptoms appear.

Also, neither of you may end up with any symptoms anyway. It took my children three times being exposed to it, to actually get it.
