yay! We went up the west coast last week & before I went, I got some goodbye sandfly. I was dubious as to whether it would work as I had memories of making essential oil blends to ward off mozzies in Europe & still getting eaten alive. However, we were up at karamea & sandlfies galore. We were all getting bitten. I put the goodbye sandfly on & we stopped getting bitten. The trick is to a) remember to reapply as it is a volatile substance & b) remember to put some on your butt if you are wearing a dress as my butt got bitten where I had none on! website according to the bottle is www.goodbyesandfly.co.nz (http://www.goodbyesandfly.co.nz)

I had not actually looked at the website but I note several places here stock it. The place I got it from is not mentioned. Definitely worth keeping in the handbag, even tho' we are a bug free area.

I'm not. If I work in the garden in the evening, both mozzies and sandflies are a hazard.

I'd definitely give it a go then as it did work for all of us. Mine cost $12 which is cheaper than buying the constituent EOs. Altho I guess you could experiment if you have them to hand.
Do you think it might work for mozzies as well?

I dunno. The only time there were mozzies was way down South. We slept in the car one night & ended up with loads of mozzies in the car but were only bitten maybe once each. I did not get around to trying it as by the time I had woken up & found all the mozzies, we did a runner. You could always email them & ask? I've got no mozzies around here I could go & do a trial on for you either.
