You are right. That was a very poor pass at a review.

I'll get my thoughts together on this now. My version is an older version, the 1998 printing.

It is originally a German text for MD's that has been translated into English. It has a brief history of the use of herbs a healing agents, addressing the different methods of preparing the herbs, with an emphasis in teas and different methods of tea preparation.

The following chapters address the different systems, ie nervous system, cardiovasular system, respiratory, etc.

The list herbs that are recommended is quite short. However, they are all supported with clinical studies, with emphasis on indications, dosages ad risks, pharmacology and toxicology, and the constituents of the plant. I really liked the chapter on immune stimulants. The author addresses the difference between a vaccine stimulated response (specific) and a herbal stimulated response (non-specific).

Basically this book is tying together so much of what I have been reading. And gives me the confidence to branch out into phytotherapy.

ETA: I like reading a text written for doctors that addresses supporting the body through illness, rather than attacking the illness with guns blazing, so to speak

I'll do a more thorough review when I have read it more carefully.
