I don't know a lot about medical lingo but am learning. Does anyone know if in a blood test, what do they look at for signs of an autoimmune disorder? Or are they only looking for specific markers for a specific disorder? I guess, on a blood test, is there an area that might show there could be an autoimmune problem, and then that would prompt a closer look?

a test like a CBC? or specific autoimmune tests? There's the ANA test.

What's an ANA test?
We had some bw done last year and they ruled autoimmune disorders and I'm wondering what they were looking at to come to that decision, because other than a CBC, the only tested for 1 specific autoimmune disorder, but said according to the results of the basic bw, it showed no other disorders. I just started thinking about it the other day and thought I'd ask here what kinds of tests do they use or how do they interpret from I guess a basic CBC test?

bbrandonsmom, use Google first, and tell us what you find.

I'm going to see if I can get the rest of the records. I don't think they did an ANA test, so will have to dig around some on the basic CBC and see what I find.
