I lately happen to know of the hypothesis connecting DDT to polio epidemics in mid 20 century . Much material can be found on the net , of uneven quality . Before looking more into this case , I would like to know if this hypothesis remained on the margins when it arose in the 1940' 1950' , or if it generated a relatively wide controversy at this time .
