At outbreak of chickenpox among western Nevada County school children has health officials asking parents to keep infected children home — and to get them vaccinated.


If they are infected, they will emerge with natural lifetime (hopefully) immunity. The vaccine at this poitn is useless. Am I missing something here?

No.

But this is the standard recommendation in any outbreak of any disease, be it chickenpox, whooping cough, measles, ... whatever.

It's their prescribed "default" position. Or .... automaton response.

giving vaccines is totally safe and giving vaccines to children who are already sick is even safer.

These guys are mentally ill, IMO.
