Hi Gitti -- I was over on MDC too but read more than I posted. I'm the descendent of Germans and Swiss. My grandmother, whom my dd is named after, always called me Schatzie. So, I picked schatz as my username for my dd. My grandmother was born in the US but only spoke German until she went to school. I'm in WI and we're full of kraut families.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes -- I ended up so busy yesterday that I didn't check in here. My b-day was the big 4-0 - :eek: so my brother and two best friends both called me and one sent flowers :o Then, I went to our community center last night and purchased a pass for the fitness center so I can stem the tide of age (I normally run regularly but have been on hiatus while I'm in grad school but I must get back on the wagon -- too much ice and snow right now so the treadmill at the gym will have to do).
