I need some explanations concerning the USA .
It is not clear to me if Salk vaccine was strictly forbidden begining 1960' or if Sabin Vax was just highly recommended . Can't read a precise reference , precise date , about it !?
On the reverse : Sabin vax seemed to have lost its license following 20 october 1998 . Salk vax becoming the reference in the States .

Change-over periods in any country are very murky. Even in New Zealand, the year of changeover is doubtful, because they "use up" old stock.
That is correct. The SABIN vaccine was recognised as being the sole cause of polio in the USA, therefore a new version of the SALK vaccine which presumably didn't have all the flaws of the old one, was licensed.

Yes. It's okay for Africa et al, but not for countries which can afford the more expensive injectable dead one.
Oh, and by the way, anyone with HIV should never have the OPV, but who apart from those of us who realises these things, actually cares?
