So, what the heck does it mean that the CDC purports to show immunological benefit despite mismatch with last year's shot? How in the sam hill?

I presume they are saying that they have the A strains right, even if the B strains are wrong, so there is at least some alleged benefit.
Or it could be a neat way of explaining why there is so much flu anyway, in the vaccinated. I think people are getting wise to the fact that the vaccine doesn't work. So if people get the flu anyway, they will just assume that it's the mismatched strain. How many will demand an expensive virus test to confirm that? Not likely. Better just to assume, and believe the experts.
Problem is, this happens year in, year out, no matter whether they admit to mismatching.
