Wake up already. I know it's only 6am where you are but it's 3pm for me and the kids are napping and I've got some time to spend on the computer. Later tonight I have a bunch of work to do so later is not an option. So let's go, I want to see some posts on this thread before 7am or I'm going to start using my admin powers for evil.
Yes, that's right, I'll hop right on over to the dark side.

Hey, I'm looking at you. Right straight at you. Don't you dare click off this thread without adding a post. I can see you!

I'm here. I've got another 6 hours til I'm off to bed. It's cold and dreary here today, and there's snow on the ground. If I could see the sun it'd be sunset. How's the weather on the other side of the world?

Oooh, snow lucky you. We don't get snow here :(

It's overcast here at the moment but will be warming up to a lovely 25 degrees (celsius that is!). Still pretty cold for the middle of summer but I'm not complaining

We had snow a few weeks back. Yes, I live in a cold & dreary part of Oz where it can snow in Summer....

Can you go skiing where you are??

Moya
16-12-08, 07:47 AM
You can ski here but the mountains are not very high. I mean they're high enough to kill me should I choose to ski because I've never skiied before. There's a ski resort ten miles from here and I saw people hurtling toward the bottom yesterday so I think ski season has finally begun here. I'm in the Appalachian mountains, actually in a valley in the mountains. A couple hundred miles to the East is the Atlantic ocean and a couple hundred miles to the west start the Great Plains which are so flat it makes the mountains around here look like the Himalayas.

Snow..... brrrrr. I live in a pretty cold part of the world but thankfully it doesnt snow too often at all. It rains ALOT....... like right now.. rain. Luckily I also live in a very beautiful part of the world so I can deal with the rain.

Oh great, it's dark here already. I am so jealous of you. In fact I'm jealous in direct proportion to how far south you live because that means you're getting all my sunlight!!! The sun barely comes out this time of year. But don't worry about me... the vernal equinox is on its way. I miss summertime.

Snowwwww... it's steamy, hot, revolting... I'd love some snow... right now, My lungs are full of a fug, like breathing through the steam from a too hot shower... it's so bad...

:ride: even my horse won't move.

at the moment daylight hours here are about 5.30am - 11pm. I crave the dark....... makes for a long day. But in winter when I am hating our measly 8 hours of meager daylight I will know that at least Moya is hopefully lying in the sun!!!!

I loved the extra hours when I lived in Dunedin. I could go walking in the evening, and didn't have to make sure I was home by 8.30 p.m.

And you will get the aurora Australis in the winter, so that should make those dark nights worth while...

I think I prefer the hot, muggy humid tropical weather of Far North Queensland because it has its share of awesome thunderstorms and cyclones and rain. Yeah even when I complain about how disgusting the humidity is... I'd take it over a dank Oregon any day. Ughhh! I hated the lack of sunlight and I hated the cold, and I hated the ice on the window outside and the MOULD growing inside the window.

We had a great storm come upon us right after I finished constructing a herb spiral, it started with forked lightning and awestruck kids. Then the thunder started and the kids decided it was safer inside the house despite the house feeling like Moya's ram was doing the cha cha inside the house :LMAO:Then it started storming and we all sat on the verandah watching the grasshoppers blow by!

Moya's ram is no longer doing the cha-cha...

What? I lost my precious sheep.

Oh well, if it will get you people to wake up, then I suppose it's necessary.

do you want your sheep back, or do you prefer your coffee? :poke:

coffee vs sheep....... I know what I would choose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moya

coffee is okay but longterm I just can't live without sheepie - we've become rather close these many years

I ask my 5 year old daughter to dress warmly. She comes out in 2 skirts (because 2 is obvioulsy warmer than 1) a thin ling sleeved t and a thick jumper........

So based on that alone I think I would take a gallon or 2 of coffee........

****yawn****

It's 6:22pm on my side of the world - what time zone you in Moya? Are you awake still? :p (No, I'm not a doofus, pretty sure you're still awake unless you're an early bed early to rise person. Very early.)

Your sheep must come back. I love watching him jump. :giggle:

I'm still without an avatar, but really don't have anything exciting to use. ;)

Going on 9pm here, but I'm so tired from staying up until 6pm your time yesterday that I think I'm going to bed early (soon!) tonight.

Hey Moya, I see you got your sheep back! I suppose I should figure out this business with the little pictures--but sometimes I sort of like being old and boring.

We've got lots of snow where I am. And skiers. Also snowboarders, cross-country skiers, ice skaters, snowshoe aficionados and a few people who just complain about the snow. The complainers all work on the road crews.

I should figure out this business with the little picturesThat do for now?

first you find an avatar you like.

You go to your User CP

Under Settings and Options, you click on edit Avatar

If you've saved it on your desktop, click browse, click on the avatar, and then upload.

real simple

okay, but where do people find avatars?

in the woods? mythological landscapes? are there avatar museums?

I know, I just google it...

I hate the humidity too, but I luurrrve the lifestyle up here. And the thunderstorms are cool. But I'm a cold weather woman through and through, I love it! :D
