Does anyone know if having unvaccinated children is a barrier to getting an Australian visa? My family live in England but we are planning to move to Queensland. I am worried about the medicals we need to take in order to be granted a visa as my 8 & 7 year old sons are completely unvaccinated. Any advice is gratefully recieved. Are there any expats in Oz with unvaccinated children? Thanks x

Australia has different rules for different countries of origin, and I came from one of the most discriminated ones. In your case it may not be an issue at all. Check the medical requirements as your local embassy presents them. If there is a notice of 'vaccination record' for children under a certain age as part of medical file, then there should be room for exemptions as neither UK nor Australia have compulsory vaccination, so you don't break any laws, just a matter of making a file complete. But I won't be surprised if there is no such requirement for UK citizens at all.

Thanks for resonding. Sounds positive and I can't see anything on the medical form requiring a vaccination report so hopefully this will not be a barrier on our path.
