Hi everyone,
I am also travelling overseas soon and the GP has warned me about Malaria. She wants to prescribe me 6 months worth of anti-malaria tablets (after she gets me to take a short dose to see whether they make me nauseaus or not!).

-Does anyone know anything about anti-malaria tablets? The only thing I know about them is a lady I know was taking them when she was unknowingly pregnant, and her daughter ended up getting cancer when she was about 7. So they scare me!

-Also can anyone tell me a way to avoid malaria that doesn't involve potent drugs? Also we are travelling for about 11 months and I dont yet know much about Homeopathy so I don't know about putting stashes of remedies in my pack

Thanks heaps for your help, I welcome your suggestions!

The only one I know about is an antibiotic called Doxycycline, which some say is less dangerous than anything else.

Your other options are somehow, to guarantee, that you will never been bitten.

Or, not travel to countries with malaria :p

I think sleeping under mosquito nets and wearing long-sleeved clothing will help. I am sure you have already thought about this but just want to throw it in :)

Get in touch with an experienced homeopath if you are going to be traveling for long. It will help tremendously.
