OK so my kids are not vaccinated, and my son had this rash on his face (I googled pictures and there was only one that looked like his rash, the rest looked way way way worse - the photos online I mean), it started on the cheeks, then went to his body (I thought it skipped his belly, but seeing how it is with the girls I think I just missed his rash on his belly LOL), his rash started on Feb. 16, today my girls rash started on their cheeks, and now it is all over body, it is very very faint on the body, was very red on the cheeks that is how we noticed, and it started as spots then it all joined together. I guess I am wondering if this could be measles????
they didnt have any fever, nothing really, that is why my naturopath suggested it was allergic reaction to something?? But there was nothing different in their lives. They are all very very healthy, have sniffles once or twice a year and that's it (they had chicken pox when they were younger, well 3 of them did, I was pregnant with 4th, now I am pregnant with 5th so I guess they are due to have something "major" again LOL)

Could it be german measles? DD had the same thing you mention when she was around 1.3 years old and she had no noticeable discomfort or fever. Just the rash. I think measles rash leaves a brownish stain later on but not rubella.

ohh sorry, yes I should say that I am leaning towards German measles right now. reading that some people dont even develop rash.
So when your DD had that rash did she get diagnosed with German measles??

Yes I took her to the pedi because I thought it was measles. The pedi told me this could be german measles. Back then I thought it was the same thing :p

She had the rash for around 2-3 days and was fine. No probs at all. Although I wish I had upped her Vit C and A. She was completely normal with no probs at all.

thank you, yes I think my son had that rash for about 3 days I think, all kids got colds around that time, so I stopped watching him so closely LOL

I tried to get vitamin A today, well sent DH to buy it and all he could find was Beta Carotene (is it the same thing??)

Yes it is the same thing. The body converts it into Vitamin A. Others around here will have more info on this but at the moment have a look at this link

This is a thread (http://forums.beyondvaccination.com/showthread.php?t=301) on how to tell the difference between the rashes and symptoms.

yes I was reading that, but their symptoms (of whatever it is) are so mild, I guess my main reason for thinking this now is the fact that the girls got the same rash as my DS exactly 3 weeks later??? I have an appointment with Dr. for myself today, I might ask him what he thinks about it all LOL.

OK my Dr. doesnt think it is measles, he thinks it is some kind of virus , like their bodies are reacting to the cold they just had (that doesnt explain DS's rash 3 weeks ago even if I believed this), he said the rash was too faint and not raised, but the rash is raised and it is itchy (now not sure if it can be itchy with measles, but he said it shouldnt be itchy for what he thinks it is LOL) anyway here is a photo, it is so hard to take a photo of it, so I hope you can see something, any ideas???

Well, that's much more confluent, and looks just like what the kids had when they were "diagnosed" with rubella.

You never know. perhaps that diagnosis was wrong :)

Trust your intuition. When my boys had the mealses they noticably had very high tempretures and were photophobic. It sounds like rubella/german mealses to me. I hope your LO's improve soon.

OK so here is the rash once more, but this time I am the one who has it (at this point the idea is that it is 5th disease, without seeing a doctor, just over the phone with my midwife, she said it is going around here), this is about 2 weeks after my girls had this, my rash though looks more like real rash, with spots all over my cheeks, itchy etc. found one on my arm, but that one definitely looks like chicken pox rash (only one spot LOL, I had pox, and when kids had it I didnt get any spots nothing) so far I dont see it on my body but my body feels itchy here and there LOL, on SUnday, day before I got this rash I felt kinda "dizzy", sort of like when you look into sun, and then you cant see, but I felt that way for awhile in the evening, I had a bad cold last week, really bad, with high fever, and lost like 4 pounds because I couldnt eat, had no sense of smell or taste.

OK well I am just worried what it could mean to me being pregnant, if anybody has any idea could you please post it here??I am 23 weeks pregnant now.

What would you do about it if you thought it was roseaola?

From my perspective, I'd not worry about it. I'd just just eat well, take my supplements and relax. worry never does anything positive.

nothing about roseola
if it is 5th disease and I get the extremely rare complication which affects baby knowing might help to be prepared and possibly have birth in hospital instead of home???? I dont know at this point, trying to make sense of it all.

What does your midwife think? Would a hospital birth add anything to the equation? Would the extremely rare complications affecting any baby be improved by being born in hospital?

As in, slapped face? I wouln't worry that far along. Any virus (including thousand nameless ones) could theoretically have extremely rare complications affecting the baby, it is virtually impossible to spend 9 months without any, but they all are relevant to nutrition and overall wellbeing and mostly so rare we wouldn't go for much higher risks of hospital births just in case.

thank you, I know you are right, it is just different when you are living it kwim??

right now we are not doing anything, just blood test to see if it is "slapped face" (yes! LOL) 5th disease so I am hoping it is not that!
because when I look online at the photos of the rashes, kids faces looked like 5th disease, but not rash on their bodies, that was more like rubella, then my face rash looks more like chick pox (which I had when little), my face rash looks different than what kids faces looked I think, so there is hope LOL.

I guess the scary part is what I read about the baby, that might need blood transfusion either right in uterus or right after the birth, but honestly we are not that far at all, I was just reading too much I guess LOL
