Colloidal silver

I am searching for colloidal silver. I had heard from my online friends that it's great to be used externally as well internally. I found that it was used as an antibiotic before much of the current antibiotics were made.

Now in India, royalty still eat and drink in vessels made of silver for health benefits. Not to be left far behind, I give my DD her water in silver glass :D but for juices I use glass. I did read that excess intake can cause problems. On an expat site in UAE, where people just love to bash everything alternative, a group of women went on to discuss how they had seen children turn blue because of CS. That time I did not pay much attention but now that I want to get some CS for my personal use, I want to make sure I know all there is about it.

Now I wanted to buy some colloidal silver here in India but since I have never seen what it looks like, I decided to search. My search got me this link http://www.space-age.com/silver.html

I spoke with Dr. Vora who owns this site. He tells me that if I buy that machine, I can make my own colloidal silver. He says it is better to have fresh CS because the shelf life is less. So always make fresh and use. One of my online friend told me that she has a machine that she plugs in to her mobile for making CS. So I guess this Dr is not a quack.

Just want to know if anyone knows more about CS and how to make etc. Magical1, I know you know lots on this...so I hope you check this post. :)

We use CS a fair bit- both internally & externally- but only when it's needed. It's not something we would take on a continual basis but we do get excellent results with it

I started using colloidal silver about three years ago when a doctor told me if I had one more strep throat I would have to have my tonsils out. My eyes were just opening to alternatives back then. I had heard about colloidal silvers powers of being effective against bacterial infections. My husband also used to rush off to the doctor about three times a year with strep throat infections. Well we both used it as a gargle. Our bad throats usually used to take hold in the night, difficulty swallowing etc. We'd get up about four times and gargle the silver and by the morning everything was clear. Now we don't get throat infections at all.

I have used it for numerous other applications and always have it in my pantry ie on athletes foot, infected toe nails, conjunctivitis, pimples, ear infections, infected wounds, cats runny eyes, dogs eyes and ears, food poisoning, colds.

The trick is to only use it when you need it and don't go crazy on the stuff. All the people who have ended up looking like smurfs using it have used huge amounts of it. Something the sceptics never tell you.

I always insure that I use a good probiotic when I am taking it and after I up it a bit. I have read conflicting reports that it kills the good guys too. Some say that it leaves them untouched but it's strong stuff I can't see how this can be true.

Fantastic if you can make your own! You can give it to your friends and family too. I just get mine at the local health store but know that some day they will probably ban the stuff so having your own maker is very wise. The initial outlay is nothing compared to how much you will use it and how effective it is. I find some brands much better than others so maybe this Dr is right it could be the shelf life thing.

I've not seen the info on that... do you have a link? I get very good feedback on it, but I don't necessarily agree with it being something you'd use all the time.

I have recently become curious about CS as well...Is it just effective against bacterial infections?? Would it be helpful with viral infections as well?? I have some at home and it says it can be taken to boost the immune system, but I don't think it would be good to use this way. Thoughts??

I only use it when a condition is acute or I can feel something coming on. I wouldn't use it as a preventative because I am prone to candida and like to keep my gut flora happy.

After much research and comparing various brands - I like Silverbiotics by American Biotech Labs. I looked into mesosilver and found that most of the research they refer to has been done by the lab that is owned and operated by the man that created the very product. That doesn't mean it's not a good product, but I couldn't find any independent research. I had contacted American Biotech labs directly and they sent me a bunch of independent research via email. They took the time to engage my questions.
