I think my two children have pertussis and i was just wanting some advise on how best to take the vit c.
My daughter is nearly 3 ad i give her 2 vitamin c tablets a day and my son is 8months and i am breastfeeding him so i take the vitamin c powder in juice a day 1 teaspoon.
Am i taking enough for him and giving her enough?
Is there a particular vitamin c i would be best to take?

My sons history has not been good lately at xmas time he had an e-coli urine infection and was in hospital for 3 days. Unfortunately it led to this as we had no idea he was sick till he became seriously sick. He is always such a happy bub we were non the wiser he had been fighting the infection for some time apparently.

Now they both have been coughing not too bad but enough to have me suspect pertussis and my sisters two children have just been diagnosed.

She put hers on the antibiotics and they are not vaccinated however i do not wish to go that way i want to do my best to help them naturally.
Do you have any suggestions i would be very greatfull.:)

In terms of Vitamin C, they should be taking sodium ascorbate. You can gauge how much they need as to how their bowel movements are. The above thread gives a general weight/dosage ratio. From the looks of it you're not taking enough of it.

You can also use tissue salts and herbal remedies such as echinacea to boost the immune system, but also for its natural antibiotic effect

You'll need Ferr Phos tissue salt (off the top of my head!) *but don't quote me on that!* Ask at a HFS

Just kidding.

After all, I continually have to look up stuff about vaccines as well :LMAO:

There is so much to know, and too many colanders in my head

I know, I know! :giggle: But it's been a good 3 years since I actually "worked" in it. I'm loving being at home with my kids instead :)

When you grab the tissue salts from the health food shop dreamboat , they have a little handbook you can look at to see which one you need.

For different stages of the cough there is different tissue salts.

eg.- for a chronic cough that is worse at night you would take Silica tissue salts.
