View Full Version : Using PH Strips
I have received my PH strips from Health House. Followed the instructions, but all our strips, mine, my husbands and the 2 girls came out dark blue . Have I done something wrong? Or should I go back to Health House and check the strips are OK? My husband is on statins (Lipex), has had his gallbladder removed and has a love of all things stodgy - my advice to try and manage his high cholesterol via diet is ignored  - I was expecting his PH to show as very acidic (so I could say I told you so), but his came out the same as all ours - dark blue. Hope I am not a dimwit who has missed something - any advice?

Hmmm, ours were definitely varying shades. We were all at least in the "correct" range (ds was on the lower end of average and it was noticeable), however mine was very dark. You didn't do it too close to eating food - some places I have seen say wait 2hrs after food? Perhaps test them on something acidic like Lemon juice or vinegar.
I've gotten dark blue with urine first thing in the morning lately, I think it's because my adrenals are really, really worn down. It moved back into a good range when I started consuming a lot more salt, since that's related to adrenals being messed up. Adrenal fatigue has to do with long-term stress, from various sources.
I did the saliva test, but our colour match chart only goes up to 7.2. Looking on a colour chart I found on the internet ours seemed to be closer to those higher up, almost to the 9.0. According to this site (can't remember which one - looked at so many), it seems to be just as bad to have a high alkaline as it does acid. I am finding all this a little confusing now, as the results, especially my husbands, were not what I expected. We are on tank rain water - could this affect the PH balance? as our diet is not excessively alkaline. Will do some further research as well - any recommended reading?

Email them, as that sounds totally weird. If you have a good camera, take digitals of the strips and send copies of the photos to them. My test normally comes back green 6.7 or 7.0. never higher.
Have done the test again this morning, I did it in the evening last time. I did it a little differently though. Didn't put the strips into my mouth, instead put saliva into a cup and tested there. This seemed to produce a colour more like on the chart. Still maybe a little higher then normal - although I understand you would be more alkaline in the morning? All I can think of is that we did them too close to having eaten (although we did allow the 30 mins it suggested) I will try again tonight as well and if I get a similar result as my first one I will them a photo, thanks for advice.
